You are Geralt of Rivia, mercenary monster slayer. Winner of over 250 Game of the Year awards, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a story-driven, open world adventure set in a dark fantasy universe. It's a more focused experience than Witcher III, and I think it benefits from that heavily.A WHOLE WORLD TO EXPLORE. If you can manage it, I highly recommend Witcher II (forget the original Witcher lol) which I sincerely believe is on par with Witcher III. An example of this is if you have a conversation with a character appearing in an earlier game, there can be some small talk between them which references previous events. It may not be as impactful, but it provides necessary context for the current story. I paid $20 for my copy and I think it was worth it.įor any callbacks or references to past games, Witcher III will catch you up with the details. I might give it another shot when the PS5 version is out though, but for $13 it isn't bad. No spoilers but the ending I got made it seem like geralt's story was over, but then they just throw me back into the world no explanation. I think some of the events in the main story would have been more impactful if I was connected more to the characters.Īlso my personal gripe is when a game ends and they pretty much throw you back into the world, and really not seeing the impact of your actions or bridging the main story ending to continuing into free roam. I played a little of the first game but never the second and felt pretty lost when a bunch of characters that I should have known showed up. Main story was okay, I preferred the Hearts and Stone dlc though. Combat felt a little dated, it was basically keep slashing and shooting fire to get stuns. Unpopular opinion: I really didn't care for this game. If you need help posting deals or have any questions, comments or concerns, please contact a mod via Modmail.
